Job Description / Role
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Drafting: Prepare detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for vessels, yachts, and onshore/offshore marine structures using AutoCAD.
- Commercial Support: Develop specialized drawings for tenders, quotations, and cost estimations, ensuring all visual data aligns with the Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Design Review: Review and revise drawings in strict adherence to engineering requirements, client specifications, and classification society rules (e.g., ABS, BV, Lloyd’s).
- Material Take-offs: Assist the estimation team by providing accurate material take-offs from technical drawings to support competitive pricing.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise closely with the Project and Estimation teams to ensure technical accuracy and resolve clarifications during the tender and execution stages.
- Document Control: Maintain a rigorous document control system for all drawing revisions, ensuring the latest versions are accessible to project stakeholders.
🔹 Requirements:
- Experience: 4 to 5 years of relevant drafting experience, with a mandatory background in the GCC marine industry.
- Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD is required; knowledge of specialized marine design software is an advantage.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of marine structures, yacht design, vessel repair, and construction drawing standards.
- Education: Diploma or Certification in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or Marine Engineering.
- Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to prepare drawings specifically for commercial proposals and technical tenders.
- Standards: Deep familiarity with international marine standards and classification society regulations.
