Job Description:
The Accountant will supervise day-to-day corporate bookkeeping, run financial statements, and oversee international trade finance portfolios. Operating within our active commercial trading division, this specialist will manage bank reconciliations, implement Odoo ERP ledger workflows, coordinate Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs), draft bank-facing correspondence, and manage local VAT filings in strict compliance with UAE regulatory standards.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Handle Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs) and trade finance transactions.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor financial transactions.
- Complete month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and accounting standards.
- Prepare and review banking and commercial correspondence.
- Maintain accurate financial documentation and support internal reporting requirements.
🔹 Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on professional accounting experience in the UAE.
- Direct, practical experience working with Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs) and commercial trade finance workflows.
- High proficiency and hands-on operational knowledge of Odoo ERP is mandatory.
- Solid background in compiling full financial statements, bank statement reconciliation, and closing ledger procedures.
- Excellent understanding of core accounting principles, local VAT compliance, and standard reporting frameworks.
- Outstanding written and spoken English communication skills, specifically in drafting formal banking and business letters.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and time-management capabilities.
- Previous experience within the Steel and Metals Trading industry is highly preferred.
