Instrument Technician – United Arab Emirates

Job Description:

The Instrument Technician will carry out calibration, preventative maintenance, fault diagnostics, and technical repairs on field control instruments under site engineering direction in the UAE. Explore further technical energy opportunities on our engineering jobs portal.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair industrial instrumentation equipment used in Oil & Gas and drilling operations.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on field instruments to ensure optimal, continuous system reliability.
• Calibrate transmitters, control valves, pressure, temperature, flow, and level measuring devices according to technical specifications.
• Identify operational defects and execute fault diagnostics on complex control systems and automated field devices.
• Enforce and uphold strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures, permit-to-work systems, and safe working standards on site.
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment calibration documentation.

🔹 Requirements:

• Relevant technical diploma, vocational certificate, or industrial qualification in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Control Engineering.
• Proven practical experience as an Instrument Technician within the Oil & Gas industry; drilling or drilling rig experience is preferred.
• Hands-on technical expertise in the installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of field instrumentation.
• Strong practical knowledge of transmitters, control valves, pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and level indicators.
• In-depth understanding of industrial safety practices, HSE protocols, and Oil & Gas maintenance procedures; candidates currently in the UAE are preferred.
