Job Description:

The Procurement Assistant will coordinate daily purchasing operations, source marine technical equipment and vessel stores, evaluate vendor quotations, negotiate supplier contracts, issue purchase orders, and partner with logistics management teams to ensure timely port deliveries.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

• Execute daily purchasing workflows, vendor communications, and material sourcing for vessel requisitions.
• Request, evaluate, and compare competitive supplier quotations for technical marine stores and deck provisions.
• Negotiate unit prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with local vendors and distributors.
• Generate formal Purchase Orders (POs), track order status, and ensure strict adherence to port delivery schedules.
• Liaise closely with warehouse operations, marine superintendents, and logistics teams to coordinate store deliveries.
• Maintain detailed procurement registers, purchase invoices, vendor price lists, and compliance records.
• Source urgent vessel spare parts and technical marine items while ensuring cost optimization and quality control.

🔹 Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain administration (Marine or ship-supply industry experience is preferred).
• Solid grasp of purchasing workflows, RFQ evaluations, Purchase Order issuance, and vendor management.
• Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and follow-up capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly MS Excel and MS Word) and ERP purchasing systems.
• Ability to perform under pressure, meet strict vessel delivery timelines, and reside in the UAE.
